In addition to being a technical feat, the J12 Tourbillon is a world first:
Graphically: its design resembles no other.  Conceived by Jecques Helleu, the central mobile and transparent section, called the "tourbillon upper cage" rotates the Tourbillon J12 logo once a minute.

Technically: It is a minor revolution, as for the first time the bottom plate that supports the movement is made of ceramic, with a level of precision to 1/100th, never before achieved for this material.  Clearly visible through the sapphire caseback, this unprecedented bottom plate gives the movement an ultracontemporary look.
